  1.                         PREFERENCES MENU

  3.  Q: How do I set the computer colors to my liking ?
  4.  A: Select the "Change Color Preferences" item.  You will then see a screen
  5.     with a column labeled "Foreground" and one labeled "Background".  The
  6.     "Foreground" color is the color of the text itself.  The "Background"
  7.     color is the color of the screen shown behind the text.

  9.     Choose the number of the desired foreground and background colors.
  10.  
  11.     NOTE:  If you choose the same color for both foreground and background
  12.     colors, the computer will not let you do this (since you would not be
  13.     able to see anything at that point).

  15.     Once you have selected a color combination that you like, just press
  16.     'Enter'.  You will then see the PREFERENCES menu again.  To save your
  17.     color changes, exit the PREFERENCES menu (using Esc key, 9. or q.).

  19.     You will see the prompt "Changes to Preferences have been made.
  20.                              Do you wish to save your changes (Y/n)"

  22.     If you answer 'y', your new color settins will be saved and used from
  23.     now on every time you run BEST BET.

  26.  Q: What is Fast/Slow 'Thinking' and how do I change it ?
  27.  A: When the computer is selecting random numbers for the playboard and
  28.     the playslip, it shows the computer "thinking".  By default, the 
  29.     computer is placed into "slow" thinking mode so that you can see
  30.     the computer thinking.  This is because computer think so fast that
  31.     if we did not slow it down some you would probably never see anything
  32.     happen during number selection.  If you prefer the maximum thinking
  33.     speed, select the "Change fast/slow 'Thinking" when picking numbers"
  34.     option.  The computer thinking speed will be altered to the opposite
  35.     speed.  Whether you pick fast or slow thinking, it does not change
  36.     the outcome of the computer's selections, only how fast it selects.

  38.  Q:  What does "Select the Game to play" do ?
  39.  A:  This function enables you to pick which game you want BEST BET to
  40.      play.  It first displays a menu of the available games in alphabetical
  41.      order.  Press 'Enter' to see the next page of available games.  Enter
  42.      the number shown to the left of the game name and description to
  43.      switch to a different game.  Once you have selected a game to play,
  44.      you are asked to confirm the new game selection.  This game will 
  45.      remain in effect for the duration of your current BEST BET session.

  47.      Upon exit from the PREFERENCES MENU you are asked "Do you wish to make
  48.      your changes permanent ?".  If you want the game selection to remain
  49.      in effect from now on (for the next time you run BEST BET), then answer
  50.      'Y' to this question.
